The place where Lord Shiva was specially favored by Nandi, who was seated in front of the shrine in all the Shiva sites, is the Mahananti Temple near Nandi, Andhra Pradesh.

Nandi means a person who pleases others. The name is especially applicable to the god Nandi, who is the vehicle of the Lord. Shivaberuman, the hero of the universe, has given him a lot of powers because of the name Nandi. It is believed that Nandi, the first guru of the world, taught the Vedas to many gods including Anangan, Indra, Soman and Gandharvas. Nandi devar, who is in the vehicle and flag of Lord Shiva, is white in color. Dharma, the symbol of virtue, purity and masculinity, is the vehicle of Lord Shiva. Shiva and Parvathi are both in the form of Ananda.

Nobody can stand beside Nandi devar in the forehead of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva offered such a gift to Nandi. On the basis of this, the place where the Lord was specially favored by Nandi, who was seated in front of all the shivatas, before the Sunni, was the Mahananti temple near the Nandilaya of Andhra Pradesh. Many years ago, the Silad Maharishi resided in an ashram between arched woodlands in the Nallamalai range. He wanted to have a son after him to worship Eesan. Silatha Maharishi prayed to Maheswaran to grant him a child. By the grace of Lord, two sons were born: Mallikarjunan and Nandanan. The eldest son, Mallikarjun, thought of Mallikarjun in Sri sailam and meditated. By that, he had the gift of drinking in his heart. The youngest son, Nandanan, taught his father the Vedas and Upanishads and meditated on Kailanathan. Lord Shiva showed him, "What do you want?" Nandanan replied, "I want to give you a great gift that will always serve you." Shiva, feeling the love that was in Nandan's heart, blessed him to be his vehicle and qualified him to be the leader of his past moments. Since the gift of Nandi is such a gift, Mahanandhilam is known as the land of Nandi. The linga is worshiped in the form of a linga, which is formed during Nandanan's penance. In this head, Lord Mahanandeeswara is displayed. Shuku, sugar, butter and all three are made purely for Lord Shiva. Built by Nanda Chakravarti in Kaliyuga, this edifice has been expanded by several kings at different periods. The temple was enlarged by the Chalukyan kings in the 7th century and the kings of the Nanda dynasty who ruled the region in the 11th century. Simmadevaraya, the brother of Krishnadevaraya, one of the Vijayanagara kings, has paid special attention to the temple. The Nawab of Kurnool, who ruled the region in the 17th century, has made annual donations to the Mahanandi Shivaratri festival. In the sanctum Nadhigeshwara is in the west direction. Since the Swayambhu Lingam, devotees can anoint the Lingam themselves. Nandeswara is in the form of a broken cancer of the cow's leg, without the complete linga. From its center, the water erupts and rises. Its pedestal is located at the bottom of the floor. In front of the Nandeswara Sannidhi, Nandi, who takes pride in the head, always looks to the Lord in great form. The head of the head is Sri makanandeswara and Ambika Srikameshwari.
