About Makaravilakku Festival:

On the day of MakaraJyothi, Swami Ayyappan will be adorned with sacred jewels 'Thiruvabharana' brought in three boxes from Padalam King Palace.

Then Maha Deeparadhana Aarthi will done. At this time Makaravilakku will appear thrice at Ponnambalamedu.

The Divya Jyothi can be seen from Sannidhanam, Pandithavalam, Pulmedu, Hilltop, Chalakayam, Attathodu, Saramkuthi, Neelimala, Marakootam.

Everyone will chant 'Swamiyae Saranam Ayyappa' with great devotion on seeing the Makara Jyothi. DD Saptagiri, DD Bharti have also live telecasted Makara Jyothi in the previous years.
