Kapaleeswarar Temple Brahmotsavam 2013 Pictures About | Panguni Uthiram Thiruvizha is Brahmotsavam at Mylapore Kapaleeswarar Temple in March 2013

The 10 day Panguni Thiruvizha of the Karpagambal Kapaaleeswarar temple in Mylapore, Chennai was celebrated from March, marking the start of the annual festival in Mylapore, which attracts people from all parts of the world. 

Begins at 7.30 AM with flag hoisting, Adigara Nandi (March 20), Thiruther (March 24), Arupathumoovar (March 25) and Thirukalyanam (March 27) are expected to be a big draw.


On all 10 days, Vinayakar, Kapaleeswarar-Karpagambal, Murugar with Valli Deivayaanai and Chandikeswarar [Ainthirumenigal - 5 deities] are taken in procession around the 4 Maada veedhis on different vahanams on pallakkus, palanquins, chariots.  As an opportunity for the asuras and demons to redeem themselves from their sins and bad actions, they are also used by the Lord as His vahanams during this 10 day festival.

During the 10 day festival, Mylapore turns into a place of intense activity and there is a festive look to the entire place with all the people enjoying the festival with their families.
